First Call for Papers
SSL (LS:2024) covers the design of effective, yet sustainable lighting systems that automatically adapt to the contextual environment to optimize the added value for living species and their ecosystems. The conference aims to exchange results, knowledge and insights over a broad range of disciplines. Therefore, we welcome papers that address on one of the topics of the list, as well as multi-disciplinary papers that bridge multiple topics. See topics.
Abstract and Paper submission
2-page abstracts (preferred template) must be in English and shall be submitted by July 19. Abstracts should report original work, completed or in progress, connected with the science and technology of lighting. Abstracts will be peer reviewed for acceptance. Authors of contributed papers can select either poster or oral presentation. Information on the uploading process of your abstract via easychair conference ls2024 can be found here.
Note! The abstract submission deadline is extended to August 10th, 2024.
The international Scientific Committee may elevate, with the agreement of authors, selected contributed papers to “landmark” level.
Accepted abstracts can be transformed into full contributed papers. Full papers must be in English. The length of submitted contributed papers, including figures and references, should be 4 pages maximum. Last day to submit final version of full paper for IEEE Xplore is December 1st, 2024
All submitted papers will be peer reviewed by the International Scientific Committee. Accepted papers will be included to the conference proceedings.
LS2024 Important Dates
LS24: key Deadlines, requirements and instructions for final paper submission
We are looking forward to welcoming you to Eindhoven! In the meantime, please review the following final submission guidelines from the conference publication team for your camera-ready paper.
In a previous e-mail, you received the reviewers comments. Please carefully address these in preparing your final paper for the conference proceedings.
Key Deadlines and Requirements:
Final Submission Deadline: December 1, 2024. This is a firm deadline for the production of the proceedings. You should submit your paper using your EasyChair proceedings author role for LS24. The paper limit is 4 pages. Papers with more than 4 pages cannot be accepted.
The final paper must strictly follow the IEEE conference templates (LaTeX and MS Word). Any variation from the IEEE template may lead to immediate rejection of your paper by the system. Further information can be found in: https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates.html
Author Registration & Payment: Papers without completed registration and payment will not be published.
Copyright Form: A signed copyright form is mandatory for publication.
IEEE Xplore Compliance: To be included in IEEE Xplore, please follow these steps carefully
Step 1: Proofread your source document thoroughly to confirm that it will require no revision.
Step 2: It is required that all PDF submissions be IEEE Xplore compliant. If your file does not meet Xplore compliance, it cannot be published and will be excluded from the LS24 Proceedings and IEEE Xplore. To help you meet this requirement, you must first check to ensure that your PDF file is compliant by using the IEEE PDF eXpress system before you submit your final camera-ready version of pdf file. The IEEE PDF eXpress platform opens on 10/11/2024 and ends on 01/12/2024.
Log in to the IEEE PDF eXpress™ site: https://ieee-pdf-express.org/
First-time users should do the following:

If you submitted a PDF for Checking, the email will show if your file passed or failed. The verified PDF will also be available through your account.
The IEEE publishing policy requires that prior to publication all authors must transfer to the IEEE in writing any copyright they hold for their individual papers. Please, also ensure that you have signed the copyright agreement through EasyChair. Detailed instructions on how to sign the copyright agreement through EasyChair were also sent to you. Confirmation of signed Electronic version of Copyright Form (eCF) and copy of eCF will be delivered to your email address. You should save a copy of eCF and submit it together with the final full conference paper verified with PDF eXpress.
How to update the final papers via EasyChair System?
Please log in EasyChair at https://easychair.org/my/conference?conf=ls2024 and select the accepted submission for which you want to upload the final PDF. \
Please note that one ZIP archive file (XX.zip) is required to be uploaded, which includes your IEEE Xplore compliant PDF (XX.pdf) and the signed copyright form (XX.pdf). Here “XX” means the two digit paper ID number.
Please submit your files via the “Upload new version” from the right-hang menu, red border. After selecting the *.zip file that you wish to upload from your computer, submit your final paper by selecting the “Submit a New Version” button.
---> Warning on Plagiarism
Papers will be reviewed on the basis that they do not contain plagiarized material and have not been submitted to any other conference at the same time (multiple submission). These matters are taken very seriously and the IEEE will take action against any author who has engaged in either practice. More information can be found in:
https://www.ieee.org/publications/rights/plagiarism/plagiarism.html / https://www.ieee.org/publications/rights/multi-sub-guidelines-intro.html
As required by IEEE, all accepted papers will be scanned for possible plagiarism using CrossCheck, prior to publication in the proceedings.
We greatly appreciate your cooperation in these matters. Thank you again for your contribution to LS24.
